Although Floyd Mayweather was crowned the victor at last night’s super-fight, Conor McGregor still has a lot to be proud of.

And that’s because he landed 111 punches on the man that holds the greatest boxing record of all-time, meaning McGregor has the second most punches anyone has landed on Mayweather.

Lasting ten rounds McGregor has landed more punches on his professional boxing debut than Manny Pacquiao managed two years ago, and did so in two fewer rounds too.

Mayweather was crowned the victor at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas after referee Robert Byrd stopped the fight in the 10th round.

Although McGregor stormed the early rounds landing plenty of punches on the boxing champion, he grew tired and Mayweather easily pinned him against the ropes.

Landing 111 of the 430 punches he threw, people are very impressed with how well McGregor did including Mayweather himself.

In his post-fight interview in the ring Mayweather said:

He is a tough competitor and I thought we gave the fans what they wanted to see.

He is a lot better than I thought he was, he used different angles and was a tough competitor but I was the better man tonight.

Our game-plan was to take our time, let him shoot all his heavy shots early on and then take him down at the end, down the stretch.

We know in the MMA he fights 25 minutes real hard and after that he starts to slow down.

I guaranteed this fight wouldn’t go the distance. A win is a win.

In 2015 Pacquiao only managed to land 81 of 429 shots he threw, a percentage of just 19 that shows just how good McGregor’s percentage of 26 is.

The Irish fighter should walk away from this contest with his head held high.
