Just this weekend one of the most bizarre games of football took place – all unfolding before the eyes of millions of spectators across the globe.
I am of course talking about the Champions League Final, which took place in Kiev on Saturday, between Liverpool Football Club and Real Madrid.
The game was marketed as a battle between Mo Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo – and judging from the first 20 minutes of the game, it was shaping up to be a real epic affair.
Possession was end to end, there were numerous shots and crosses into the box from both sides, however that all came to an end around 25 minutes into the game when Salah was injured in a controversial ‘take down’ from Sergio Ramos.

From that moment on the game went from worse to worse for Liverpool fans, with things getting truly ridiculous rather quickly in the second half.
Goalkeeper Loris Karius threw the ball directly at the foot of Benzema – the ball then seemed to bounce off Benzema’s foot and into the back of the net.
Liverpool quickly equalised but just moments later, Welshman Gareth Bale scored an incredible bicycle kick. Not too long after that came Karius’ second fatal error, when he failed to keep out a long-range shot from Bale. Instead of knocking the powerful shot outwards, he knocked it into the goal.
It wasn’t a great night for the Liverpool ‘keeper, as he suffered one the biggest falls from grace the game has ever seen. From hero to zero in the space of minutes.
Football pie all over his face, the German was in tears after the final whistle. A man who couldn’t stop the waterworks any more than he could Real Madrid’s long-range shots.
One theory for Karius’ bizarre antics is that he was injured by Sergio Ramos – who many are also claiming injured Salah in that eternally controversial tackle.

So when former porn star, Mia Khalifa posted to Instagram in support of Karius, she didn’t hold back in expressing her thoughts on Ramos.
Mia told Karius to keep his chin up, saying:
Keep smiling. Mistakes are human nature. #F*ckYouRamos.
Khalifa also expressed her ‘liking’ of Karius in a comment on an Instagram post about him.
The goalie tweeted a photograph of himself captioned about the then upcoming final writing:
Eyes on the prize.
Khalifa responded:
Is he the prize? Because….
The flirty comment was followed up with several eye-emojis.
I’m sure by now you’re all aware Salah went to the floor before crawling around in agony. Although no foul was given by the referee many claim he was intentionally taken down by Real Madrid’s Marmite defender, Ramos.
One man who really isn’t happy about all of this is none other than Egyptian lawyer, Bassem Wahba, who’s launched a €1 billion (£873m/$1.2bn) lawsuit against Ramos for the controversial challenge.
Yes that’s right, Wahba has launched a gargantuan €1 billion lawsuit against the Spanish defender. Jeez.
According to Goal, while appearing on Egyptian television channel Sada El-Balad , Wahba announced he’d filed a complaint to FIFA, saying:
Ramos intentionally injured Mo Salah and should be punished about his actions. I’ve filed a lawsuit and a complaint to FIFA.
I’ll ask for compensation, which could exceed €1 billion, for the physical and psychological harm that Ramos gave Salah and the Egyptian people.
Wahba has also pledged, if he does receive any money from the lawsuit, he’ll hand it straight over to the ‘Long Live Egypt Fund’.
As well as this, a petition has been launched to punish Ramos for ‘intentionally hurting Salah’ and his since received almost 400,000 signatures at the time of writing.
