Either the Irish fans have been enjoying themselves too much or there’s something going on in Las Vegas tonight we haven’t been told about.

Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather is finally upon us after months and months and months of endless speculation and drama.

While many believe this fight to be a complete mockery of the sport of boxing, there’s no arguing this is one of the biggest spectacles the sport has seen in recent years.

To that end, people have been placing all kinds of bets on who is going to win and how they’re going to win.

Many wrote off McGregor, given he’s making his professional boxing debut against one of the all time greats – Mayweather – whose record stands at 49-0.

Regardless, William Hill have revealed just hours before the fight, more bets have been placed on McGregor to win than bets placed on Floyd to win in the past two months.

William Hill broke it down like this:

Tonight’s Mayweather vs McGregor fight will be the biggest sports decision in William Hill US history.

The worse-case result, a McGregor win by KO/TKO/DQ in the first four rounds, is currently a multi-million liability for America’s leading sports book operator.

Since re-opening for wagering this morning, William Hill’s 108 Nevada Sports Books and Mobile Sports app have been booking 19 bets on Conor McGregor for every 1 bet on Floyd Mayweather.

Bettor’s at William Hill Sports Books have placed more McGregor money line bets in the past hour than total Mayweather money line bets booked since the fight was announced 74 days ago.

Incredibly, this bout has now become the most betted on fight in history – 50% more people have placed a bet on MayMac than the previous top fight, Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

In recent days it’s been revealed several million-dollar bets have been placed on McGregor, however, it’s also been revealed in recent hours, many professional bettors have been backing Money to extend his unbeaten record to 50-0.

Not long now ’til we find out!
