Behind-the-scenes footage from the aftermath of the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather fight shows a very contemplative and apologetic McGregor – a far cry from the man we know as ‘The Notorious’.

By now you’re probably ‘over’ reading Mayweather-Mcgregor related content, I don’t blame you, in fact, I think our tiny little fingers are getting exhausted having to STILL write about them – the fight is at least two weeks old now!

However I guess we have to give kudos to both fighters for defying expectations and putting on a decent display.

Furthermore, this newly released backstage footage shows just how much the fight meant to McGregor:

Losing is never easy, in fact it’s a tough pill to swallow (I should know, I’m an Arsenal fan) but it was strange to see this locker room footage of Conor McGregor looking rather downbeat after his loss to the now-50-and-0 Mayweather.

Despite walking away with a hefty pay cheque, it’s clear to see what the defeat meant for the proud Irishman.

At McGregor’s core,  if you strip away the bravado and showmanship, he’s a born fighter and like most who step into the ring, craves the win.

So for Conor to take the loss, no matter how much the odds were stacked against him, it was clearly a tough one for him to accept.

At one point, in the footage, he even apologises to UFC President Dana White, who’s stunned by the Irishman’s words.

In response to McGregor’s unneeded apology Dana says:

Sorry? Dude, I’m ecstatic!

It just goes to show, even though the money is good, and by good we mean DAMN good, winning is a much better feeling.
