Wagner Ribeiro, the ‘advisor to Neymar’s father’, is convinced that he can get the Brazilian superstar to ditch the Camp Nou in favour of Barcelona’s bitter rivals, Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Catalan giants, despite him recently signing a contract extension that should see him stay until 2022.

Ribeiro is determined to ensure people know that at least three clubs are prepared to meet the Brazilian’s release clause of 157m – namely Manchester United, PSG and Real.

The desire coming from Ribeiro to see Neymar play for Madrid comes from his links to Florentino Perez – the pair have been friends for a number of years.

Perez would undoubtedly be interested in signing Neymar should the opportunity arise, and Madrid clearly have no problems with signing Barca’s biggest stars – just look at Luis Figo back in 2000.

Real have demanded assurances that Neymar is willing to pay his buy-out clause at the Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP) when the time comes, and in return will offer the player a six year deal with an annual salary of £15m.

There’s a hell of a long way to go in this one though, and Neymar seems happy to play for Barcelona at present.

It seems like a typical modern day problem of a player having too many bodies deciding what’s best for him, rather than sorting things in a more straightforward way.
