PAMost Chelsea fans would have considered the suggestion that Victor Moses could have a future at Stamford Bridge as one of madness before pre-season, but after watching the winger, and viewing Jose Mourinho’s transfer moves so far this summer, the suggestion is no longer as impossible as it once seemed.
Moses has been impressive, with some people even going as far as calling him one of the stars of the whole North America tour, not only finding the back of the net against PSG, but also slotting his penalties home in both shootouts, and being lively during his time on the field.
Moses moved to Chelsea back in 2012, and has spent the majority of that time away from the club, going to Liverpool on loan and struggling to make an impact there before excelling at Stoke last season.
Now back at Chelsea, he looked a dead on cert to leave this summer, but looking at not only his performances, but the fact that Jose Mourinho has lavished praise on him and gone as far as to include him in his comments when talking about his options next season, that may not be the case.

Juan Cuadrado has been abysmal when handed a chance to show what he can do, and looks a leading candidate to leave – should the right offer come in for him of course – and that is without even mentioning Mohamed Salah, who has not even featured at all, moving closer to sealing a move away from the club.
No matter what you think of Mourinho, he is fair manager and will hand players a chance if they show enough about them – and this season he is willing to do so with some of the Chelsea starlets, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek tipped for big things, not to mention Bertrand Traore and new kid on the block Kenedy, so it is not out of the question that Mourinho will stick with what he has until the January transfer window at the very least.
Following the winger’s performances, Mourinho claimed:
I see him fitting in. He’s strong, he’s experienced, he knows the Premier League well, he’s fast, he’s aggressive.
Okay, he has to play with us. But I’m happy with his week. But Victor has had an evolution in the last couple of years
People forget that Moses is an African Cup of Nations winner with Nigeria and has produced in the Premier League before – but much like other young wingers, he ran the risk of ending up on the scrapheap at Stamford Bridge and may well still do so.
However, after showing glimpses of why Chelsea purchased him in the first place, all is not lost for the Nigerian star, and Chelsea fans may well find him used in the role of an impact sub next season – something Mourinho knows how to do to devastating effect.
