Patrick Vieira Talks Arsene Wenger’s Future And His Rivalry With Roy Keane

For the last couple of months, Arsenal have been the talk of the Premier League.

This is nothing new, as it’s usually around the turn of the year that everything in the red half of north London turns to shit, and the Gunners are left fighting for fourth place in the Premier League under Arsene Wenger.

But this season, their fans have had enough and have started protesting to get the Frenchman out of their club, with banners, marches and even plane flyers organised to try and oust Wenger from his position at the Emirates.

Fans want to see the glory days brought back to the club, and one of the iconic figures of the all-conquering early 2000’s side was Patrick Vieira. He spent nine years at Highbury, winning league titles and FA Cups regularly – something Arsenal fans can only dream of in recent times.

These days, Vieira is living in sunny America, where he is coach of New York City FC, where he gets to work with the likes of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa.

But Arsenal is close to his heart, so when the boys from Copa90 went over to talk to him, the conversation quickly moved onto all things Arsenal, and Vieira gave his thoughts.

Vieira also gives his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe (4.39 of the video), the Monaco striker dubbed ‘the new Thierry Henry’ and N’Golo Kante (6.39 of the video), who Arsenal tried to sign from Leicester City last summer, only for Wenger to fail to get the signing over the line, and watch him tear it up for Chelsea this season.

However, perhaps the highlight of the video is when Vieira is asked about his iconic rivalry with Roy Keane (3.30 into the video), and produces an answer that was clearly ignited by an old spark burning strong inside.

Oh what Arsenal wouldn’t give to have another Patrick Vieira back in their team right about now…
