The news no mixed martial arts fan wanted to hear has been confirmed – Rafael dos Anjos has pulled out of UFC 196.
MMA Fighting have revealed the Brazilian suffered a broken foot late last week.
With less than two weeks until RDA was due to fight Conor McGregor in Las Vegas, a new opponent will have to be found for the Irishman.
It’s a scenario that has become all too frequent for McGregor.
Jose Aldo pulled out of their original featherweight title fight last July, with Chad Mendes stepping in for the Brazilian, and McGregor having to wait until December to face Aldo.
It is reportedly the sixth time in McGregor’s last 12 fights that an opponent has pulled out – four of those in the UFC.

Déjà vu all over again for @TheNotoriousMMA. This would be the fourth time in 8 UFC fights that he’s had to adjust to a change in opponent.

The sense of disappointment is pretty overwhelming, but it’s nothing ‘The Notorious’ hasn’t overcome before.
His response to this one should be interesting to say the least!
