An American sports reporter has been given the boot after making a series of racist remarks during a Facebook Live video stream.

Emily Austen who was working for the Fox Sports Sun was fired after saying ‘I didn’t know Mexicans were smart’ and calling Jewish people ‘stingy’.

Austen went on to claim that basketball star Kevin Lore is a ‘little bitch’ and that everyone knows the ‘Chinese guy is always the smartest guy in math’, Business Insider reports.

She made these wildly inappropriate comments while working as a sideline reporter for the Tampa Bay Rays and Orlando Magic, and they were live streamed on the Facebook page of Barstool Sports.

The reporter, who appears alongside three men in the clip who seem pretty outraged at her calling her ‘Trump junior’, will not appear on any future game broadcasts apparently.

Later the video was deleted from the Facebook page, but had already been uploaded to YouTube, and Barstool Sports said the video was accidentally deleted.

Meanwhile, Fox Sports Florida’s senior vice president, Steve Tello, said:

We were made aware that Emily Austen appeared in a social media video unaffiliated with Fox Sports in which she made insensitive and derogatory comments.

She was not speaking on behalf of Fox Sports, nor do we condone any of the statements she made in the video.

Emily has been advised that her comments were unacceptable, and she is not scheduled to appear on any upcoming Fox Sports Florida or Fox Sports Sun broadcasts.

Serves her right, these types of comments are just ignorant and in this case particularly toe-curling especially when she tries to dig herself out and just keeps going deeper.
