WWE legend Ric Flair has opened up about his recent surgery, saying he believes it’s added 25 years to his life.
The 70-year-old retired professional wrestler was taken to hospital last month after suffering a reported medical emergency, undergoing hours of surgery at a cost of $1.8 million.
Breaking his silence on the matter, Flair has confirmed that he could now live to the age of 95 as a result of the surgery.
PAIn an interview with TMZ Sports, Flair said he would never grow up and would continue to party until his dying days.
He went on to say his wife wants a ’35-year-old man every day of her life,’ at which point he mentions he could now live another 25 years.
Flair explained:
I don’t care how many doctors tell me, ‘you gotta learn to grow up’… I’m not gonna act like my age, don’t ever tell me that.
I’m paying you to make me better so I can be me. That’s me and that’s all i’m ever gonna be… good or bad.
Flair also recently posted a video of himself on social media in which he thanked his friends, family, and fans for their support.
Appearing full of life and vibrant, the former wrestler apologised for keeping silent on the matter up until now, describing his recovery as ‘a miracle’.
Speaking to the camera, Flair said:
I want to first of all apologise for not getting back to y’all sooner. Certainly appreciate all the support.
Thank you to my beautiful family, to all my friends, to all the doctors, nurses, everybody that brought me back again. It’s a miracle again. It’s a $1.8 million tune-up on the Nature Boy!
Flair, full name Richard Morgan Fliehr, went on to say how he’s only just beginning to tell his story and explained how he underwent surgery to get a pacemaker put in.
But despite his health scares over the years, the WWE legend said he is confident he’ll be here for at least another 20 years.
He continued:
I feel great. The prognosis is I could live to be 95.
PAMaking sure to thank a few famous faces for visiting him in hospital – including Triple H, Charles Barley, Hulk Hogan, and Offset – Flair also called out those who didn’t support him during his time of need.
