Ronaldo, yes THE Ronaldo, (not the pretty boy from Portugal), had a stunning career.

The 2002 World Cup winner played for the two biggest clubs in Spain – Barcelona and Real Madrid – and also for the two biggest Italian teams – AC Milan and Inter Milan.

So he played with some pretty special players during his career, but how many make it into his all-time best XI?

Speaking to the FA, the Brazilian superstar named his chosen lineup, and it left us dreaming of how good that team would be if it played together.

Check it out:

There you have it, Lionel Messi makes it into what can only be described as the most attack minded midfield I’ve ever seen, and there’s room for the great Pele as well.

No room for CR7 though, although it’s fair enough when Diego Maradona sneaks in ahead of him.

Of the XI, Ronaldo only didn’t manage to share a pitch with three players (Messi, Maradona and Pele), which just confirms how good the 1990’s era of football was.

Nice bit of nostalgia there for you.
