Last night, Holly Holm shocked the world when she knocked out the seemingly invincible UFC women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey.
After Rousey was handed her first ever loss in mixed martial arts, some of her biggest enemies couldn’t hide their delight on social media.
Immediately after the head kick heard round the world, both Cris Cyborg and Miesha Tate took to Twitter to express their glee.
After the fight, Cyborg expressed her wish to still face Rousey in a superfight, although this loss does rather scupper those hopes for at least the near future.
Tate, meanwhile – who is perhaps Ronda’s biggest ever rival – was quite happy to tell anyone who’d listen after the fight about how Ronda deserved everything she got in the bout.
Speaking to MMA News Source, Tate said:
I’m fucking stoked; fuck Ronda Rousey. Fuck her and her ‘Nobody has the right to beat me.’ Nobody has the right to beat you? Well you just got beat, bitch! Anyways, I’m proud of Holly. She had a perfect, flawless game plan. She came in with it and now she is the champion.
Strong words. Although Tate was probably less pleased by the news that, with Rousey’s loss, she’ll have to wait even longer for another shot at the title, as it looks like an immediate rematch between Holm and Rousey is the way the UFC are going next.
Oh, and as if Tate and Cyborg piling on wasn’t enough, Rousey’s last opponent Bethe Correia – who Ronda knocked out in 34 seconds back in August – also got involved on social media to post about her joy at Holm’s victory.

It all goes to show just how many feathers Ronda Rousey ruffled during her time as champ. We’re still in shock that Holm was able to do what no other fighter before her could – and not just win, but dominate. Incredible.
