There was more than one upset in the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, at UFC 196 last night.
Before Nate Diaz submitted Conor McGregor with some of his ‘ninja shit’, Miesha Tate had already done likewise to Holly Holm.
Tate is now the UFC women’s bantamweight champion and fierce rival Ronda Rousey is already sounding out a title fight between the pair.

Rousey did not watch Holm and Tate’s fight, attending a Pro Wrestling Guerilla event with Travis Browne instead, reports Bleacher Report.
But she was contacted with news of Tate’s victory by Dana White, and her response was typical.
Fox News reports White as saying:
I think that Ronda now will fight Miesha Tate for the title. That’s what’s going to happen. That’s what I said before this fight even happened. Whoever wins tonight will fight Ronda for the title.
I texted Ronda — Ronda wasn’t watching the fight. I text Ronda and she said ‘what happened?’ I said ‘Miesha just choked her unconscious’ and she said ‘looks like I’ve got to get back to work.
Dana said Ronda didn’t watch tonight. When he told her Tate won she texted, back to work for me.

Unfortunately, that return will not be in the immediate future following Holm’s devastating knockout of the former champion last November.
Rousey required plastic surgery to repair the damage to her face, and White stated she would not return to the octagon before October.
White said:
She’s scheduled to not come back until October or November but it doesn’t mean I can’t ask.
Dana White: No matter what happened tonight, Ronda Rousey is not coming back till October-November

It will be the third time Tate and Ronda Rousey enter the cage together, with the latter successful on both previous occasions – so the champ will have a point to prove.
