After flirting with the Premier League title for the majority of the season, Tottenham Hotspur blew their chance of finishing above Arsenal for the first time in the Premier League on the final day.
Already relegated Newcastle United beat Mauricio Pochettino’s side 5-1 at St James’ Park, and it made Arsenal fans quite happy.
As you know, Arsenal fans are all over Twitter, so the mocking was incredible.

Only Spurs could have finished 3rd in a two horse race for the PL title.

I'm still in shock the Spurs out-Spursd themselves to that level.
5-1 to a 10 man, relegated, Newcastle side to finish below your rivals.

Ah, welcome back @SpursOfficial. I'd say I've missed you, but obviously you've been ruining my life for the last 30 years.

Wojciech Szczesny has just ensured he’s cemented in Arsenal folklore.
We love the internet.
