The Quack Attack is back!

After several cast members from The Mighty Ducks reunited at a recent Anaheim Ducks hockey game, it really seems teams stick together forever – even fictional ones from nineties movie franchises.

You can watch the trailer from the 1992 film below:

After that little trip down memory lane, into the land of the Ducks where millions of kids fell in love with the fictitious camaraderie of the ever-losing team, it seems the actors who portrayed them are here to bring you back to the present day with a bang, as well as a reminder we’re all getting on a bit.

It’s been over 20 years – 27 to be precise – since the self-centred Gordon Bombay (played by Emilio Estevez), swapped his hot shot job in the law and took to the ice to coach the Duck out of a pretty poor rut, after being sentenced to community service.

Enter: Adam Banks (played by a young Vincent LaRusso), who would become everyone’s small town hero, and prove kids can achieve anything when they put their minds to it.

Now, LaRusso, along with Kenan Thompson, Danny Tamberelli, Garette Ratliff Henson, and Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine have reunited, and donned the Ducks jersey, and it’s all the nostalgia we need.

The photograph was shared and captioned for full nostalgia:

The quack attack is back, Jack! Glad to have a few Mighty Ducks join us for the game – and a few other fun projects – today on Long Island.

Cue a lot of millennial movie fans marvelling at the passage of time.

Henson, LaRusso and Tamberelli all starred in the original 1992 movie, with both Kenan Thompson and Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine joining up for both of the sequels, D2: The Mighty Ducks and D3: The Mighty Ducks, which were released in 1994 and 1996, respectively.

They all appeared at the arena in New York with jerseys featuring their character names, with Tamberelli as Tommy Duncan, Henson as Guy Germaine, Jacobsen-Derstine as Julie ‘The Cat’ Gaffney, and LaRusso as Adam Banks.

While it’s all well and good seeing the gang reunite next to ice, I’m sure most of us would really rather see them in their blades on the silver screen.

Well, you might be in luck as there’s been some talk of The Mighty Ducks 4 possibly happening over the years.

The Goldbergs creator Adam F. Goldberg even pitched the idea to Disney at one point, he revealed in 2015 – and the cast would be keen to try out their skills once again.

In a 2014 interview with Time, Carsten Norgaard, who played Wolf ‘The Dentist’ Stansson, revealed he’s got his gear ready and would be happy to take the call, reports MovieWeb.

He said:

Over the years, I’ve heard rumours of it. And it’s kind of interesting, with the impact that it has had on so many kids, that a fourth hasn’t been made, or a TV series hasn’t been made of it.

But it’s a good trilogy as it is. But other than rumours, I don’t know any more about it.

I can tell you that when I left the Ducks, I got all my gear and my skates and everything in a big, beautiful ice hockey bag, and it still sits in one of my closets ready to go.

Ducks, assemble!
