These Stats Show England’s Women’s Teams Smash Their Male Counterparts

A different sport but the same old story unfolded for England’s men as they crashed out of the Rugby World Cup on Saturday.

Inevitably there is a combination of outrage and disappointment circulating amongst the masses who believed that at least a semi-final appearance was on the cards.

Well a quick look back over recent tournaments goes to show that faith and optimism has been placed in the hands of the wrong people.

It is in fact England’s women who the nation should be cheering on with greater fervour, as it is they who have tasted the greater success in recent years.

So third at both the Women’s Cricket World Cup and 2015 Women’s Football World Cup, plus victory at the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup. Now compare that to the men’s recent past.

The men have failed to advance from the group stages in three separate world events, including the Men’s Football World Cup, Cricket World Cup, and now the Rugby World Cup.

By no means should anyone give up hope of global crowns coming back to Blighty, but maybe they should back England’s women’s teams with greater gusto. After all, they have already proven they can do more than challenge, they can win on the international stage.
