Being the second richest sportsman in Britain after Wayne Rooney, it is interesting to learn that Andy Murray is actually quite frugal with his whopping wage, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

Winning his second Wimbledon men’s singles title in July this year earned him £2 million, bringing his total earnings from prize money alone this year to more than £8 million.

The majority of his money though  comes from brand endorsements, the most fruitful of which is his £15 million deal for four years with Under Armour.

The Scot prefers to invest his money in property rather than spend frivolously, having spent £1.8 million on the luxury Cromlix House Hotel in Perthshire, and then injecting £6 million to renovate it.

Murray also signed a sponsorship deal with crowdfunding platform Seedrs, as well as investing in 17 startups including salad-maker Tossed, and beauty service Blow LTD

Of course some of his millions went on his 2015 wedding where he married his long-term girlfriend Kim Sears at Dunblane Cathedral.

This year he became a dad for the first time, so no doubt their daughter Sophia Olivia is ploughing through some of that cash.
