Those hoping for a fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua anytime soon are going to be disappointed as the Gypsy King has finally revealed when he’s likely to step back into the ring.

Fury had claimed that he was ready to fight AJ right away after his 18-month ban but Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has claimed there’s no way he’ll be fit enough to take on AJ in his next outing.

The British Boxing Board revoked Fury’s license last year after admitting to going on drink and drug binges but it may be returned to him following a hearing and he plans on being back in the ring on July 8.

Fury who’s currently training in Marbella, with Billy Joe Saunders, told BritishBoxers.co.uk

I’m out here for the foreseeable future, running, doing circuits, padwork, sparring.

I’ll be back on the July 8 Copper Box show headlined by Billy Joe Saunders. I’ll have a few comeback fights, two or three, while I’m waiting for Joshua.

Fury also confirmed  Hearn’s previous suggestion that April 2018 is the date he expects he’ll have his showdown with Anthony Joshua.

He finished by saying that he will be the best Tyson Fury he can be again and that it didn’t slip away and reaffirmed his belief that he can beat Joshua in a fight.
