Dana White has revealed that the UFC is very close to scheduling Conor McGregor’s next fight.
The Irishman was due to face Nate Diaz in a rematch at UFC 200, but following a very public dispute over promotional duties was dropped from the card.
Since then McGregor has been playing a game of chess with the promotion regarding his next bout, and has heavily fueled rumours he and Floyd Mayweather may box in a superfight.
But as reported by TMZ, the UFC president and the featherweight champ have met to discuss the future:
According to White the promotion and one of its prized assets are on good terms.
As reported by MMA Mania, White told ESPN SportsCenter:
Lorenzo and I are having dinner with Conor McGregor, so tonight at like 10, I’ll have a lot more answers on the Conor McGregor situation.
We’re in a good place with Conor and we’re looking to make his next fight. We should have that done tonight.
In the meantime the Irishman has been filmed working on his boxing with former ABU, IBF and IBO champion Chris Van Heerden.
Definitely a work in progress.
