UFC fighter Diego Brandao was arrested on Friday amid reports he pulled a gun on staff at a strip club.
As reported by Fox, Brandao is alleged to have argued with a DJ before leaving the club, known as ‘Knockouts’.
The Brazilian was refused re-entry due to his behaviour and is accused of returning a second time armed with a gun, which he pointed one member of staff before allegedly striking another with its butt.
Brandao’s bail was set at $15,000 -roughly £10,500- and charges against him include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and willful assault with a deadly weapon.
As reported by MMA Junkie, the UFC have released the following statement:
We are aware that UFC featherweight Diego Brandao was arrested Friday following an altercation at a business establishment in Albuquerque, N.M. We are in the process of gathering more information at this time.
While we are concerned by the nature of the reported allegations, it is important to note that Brandao is entitled to due process in a court of law.
We will have no further comment until more information can be gathered.
The Ultimate Fighter 14 winner last fought in January when Brian Ortega submitted him, but was then suspended for returning a positive test for marijuana metabolites.
