A shocking video has emerged showing England fans apparently fighting against each other in a Paris fan zone.

The footage was filmed after England were unceremoniously dumped out of the Euros by Iceland, prompting the resignation of manager Roy Hodgson.

The clip was posted to Twitter by Lawrence Tanner and shows a large number of fans in front of a big screen pushing and shoving each other, reports The Mirror.

Several of those involved look to be wearing England shirts and carrying England flags and at one point a woman can be heard screaming in fright.

As yet it’s unclear what kicked off the violence, but stewards were forced to intervene to break up the trouble.

Earlier in the evening goals from Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Ragnar Sigurdsson condemned England to the biggest tournament upset since their defeat to the United States in the 1950 World Cup.

ITV pundits Ian Wright and Lee Dixon – both former England players themselves – labelled the team’s performance as ‘abject’.

At his post-match press conference, Hodgson announced his resignation, along with those of his assistants Ray Lewington and Gary Neville.

Early reports suggest Gareth Southgate is the current favourite to take over the role.
