Zlatan Has One Big Move Left, And It Should Be To England

Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave English football fans a boner when he declared that he was ‘in shape’ for a move to the Premier League.

The comment came just after PSG had defeated Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash, with Ibra scoring in the 2-1 win.

With his contract in Paris expiring in the summer, Sweden’s all time top scorer is on the lookout for a new club and will no doubt be swamped with offers from around the world – but England should be his next stop.

If he does choose the Premier League, it will only be for a year as he has agreed a deal to play for David Beckham’s new MLS franchise from 2018, but one year of Zlatan in the England is better than none.

At 34, some say his best days are slightly behind him but Ibrahimovic still remains deadly in front of goal.

His record of 131 goals for PSG in just four seasons is nothing short of incredible, and the fact he’s now their all time top scorer gives him yet another record to add to his already extensive collection.

Should Zlatan choose England, the best destination could well be Manchester United.

With Jose Mourinho looking set to take over in the summer, Ibrahimovic would certainly be interested in linking up with his old boss.

The pair won two Serie A’s together and the Swede has something of a knack of winning leagues wherever he goes. During his entire career, Ibrahimovic has only failed to win the league TWICE – both times finishing second (with Ajax in 2002/03 and 2011/12 with AC Milan).

If he needed another reason to choose Man Utd, the fact that Pep Guardiola is taking over at Manchester City this summer is perfect.

Back in 2010, Zlatan threatened to ‘publically beat up’ Guardiola if he did not allow him to join AC Milan, so that sums up their relationship nicely. Safe to say Zlatan won’t be pulling on a Manchester City shirt anytime soon.

The one thing that may keep Ibra away from United is that they are unlikely to be playing Champions League football next season – the one trophy that has eluded the striker during his illustrious career.

However, judging by the striker’s character, it’s pretty safe to assume he’d settle for pissing Pep off one last time before heading Stateside.
