Apparently We Now Love Our Smartphones More Than Our Partners

A new survey has found that two-thirds of us would feel lost, stressed or anxious without our precious mobile phones.

Perhaps most surprising is that many of us are so frightened of being parted from our handset, even for just one day, that we’d would put it ahead of our partners, The Sun reports.

The bizarre stats come from a Nationwide Building Society survey of over 2,000 people in relationships and it seems the majority of us are pretty shitty partners.

They discovered a whopping 58 per cent of those surveyed claimed they couldn’t go more than 24 hours without checking their phone. But only 28 per cent said they couldn’t go more than a day without speaking to their better half.

53 per cent even admitted that they check their mobile before talking to their partner when they wake in the morning.
It seems there’s no good news for our unlucky partners as 42 per cent would rather forget their anniversary than lose their smartphone.

Nationwide’s Dan King said: “It shows how ingrained phones have become in our culture.”

Maybe people should put the phone down before they find that their relationship has been unexpectedly disconnected…
