If you’re one of those people who doesn’t deal well with change, look away now.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Apple are about to ditch another iPhone feature and cause the technologically engaged world to dive head first into a full-blown system meltdown.

The victim this time is not the headphone jack, nor the home screen button. This time, Apple Inc. are ditching their Lightning Port for a new USB-C port, marking another shift for the iPhone’s design.

In terms you and I will understand, the charging port you currently plug your phone into – at all too regular intervals between deleting apps and desperately trying to conserve your phone battery – is going to look very different when the new iPhone 8 is rolled out.

The USB-C port is a feature more commonly associated with new Android smartphones releases.

However, it’s not entirely new territory for Apple, who introduced the USB-C port on its MacBooks in 2015.

The change is set to be costly for both accessory manufactures and Apple users – that’s you and me.

In other words, it’s going to cost everyone a small fortune to keep up with Apple’s ever-changing technology.
