Apple’s Latest iPhone Advert Promises That Privacy Matters

Apple has released a brand new advert promising its customers that it cares about privacy.

The video showcases scenarios where people feel like deserve privacy. Some of the examples shown are being in your own home, in work, in the car and even the bathroom.

Apple finishes the 45-second video by saying that “If privacy matters in your life, it should matter to the phone your life is on.”

The tech giant is clearly suggesting that it is taking privacy incredibly seriously. It can also be seen as a dig towards its competitors Facebook and Google. Both companies offer a free service, but then use anonymous user data to market their advertising platforms to third parties and advertisers.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Apple has thrown shade at competition. At CES 2019, the company’s only presence was a billboard saying “What happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone”.

It’s worth bearing in mind that just over a month ago, Apple devices suffered from a major bug with FaceTime.

It let users eavesdrop on other people through their phones, even if the person didn’t answer the call.

Apple does a few things to keep data safe. It encrypts your iMessage conversations, doesn’t keep a history of your routes in Maps, and also limits tracking across sites with Safari.

But after the recent issue with FaceTime, it’s got many people asking if Apple is doing enough to protect its users privacy.
