BMW have debuted a brand spanking new concept for a flying motorcycle called the Hover Ride and it’s based on Lego.

The car manufacturer based the futuristic design on the Lego Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure kit, with designers using the same parts to create their own version of a flying motorbike.

BMW like the design so much that they decided to make a full-sized replica of the Lego vehicle, The Express reports.

The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure kit launched in January and is the first model ever made in cooperation with the motorcycle manufacturer.

Head of Sales and Marketing at BMW Motorrad Heiner Faust said:

BMW Motorrad approached Lego Group with the idea of a collaboration because the two companies have much in common: they both successfully combine innovation and tradition in their brands and products, providing unforgettable experiences for young and old alike all over the world.

Both BMW and Lego worked together to create the Lego Technic Hover Ride, an alternative model included in the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure kit.

Head of BMW Motorrad Vehicle Design Alexander Buckan claimed the idea to build a fictitious model bike a ‘great idea and a superb creative challenge’.

The design concept for The Hover Ride went on display last week at Lego World in Copenhagen but there are plans for it to tour other BMW bases.

Unfortunately as amazing as the design looks it’s unlikely that we’ll have flying motorcycles any time soon…
