In a galaxy far, far away lies the construction site for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, a theme park fit for a Jedi.
Ever since Disney announced they’d be building a theme park inspired by the incredible world of Star Wars, millions of fans across the world have been waiting anxiously, dressed up as their favourite character of course, for it to open.
And that day is getting closer and closer as construction has finally begun on the park which looks set to be a magical land of wonder.
Yesterday Disney Parks shared a new flyover video of the construction site and although it is mostly just a mess of cranes and scaffolding, it is starting to take shape.
The drone footage of the California Disneyland-based theme park also gives us an impression of the sheer size and scale of the place ending with an animated look at what Galaxy’s Edge will look like on completion.
Although work has begun we still have to wait a year to visit the park as it isn’t due to open until 2019.
Guests will find themselves in a place Star Wars fans have never seen before as the park is set on the new planet of Batuu, located in the Outer Rim of the galaxy of course.
There will be features relating to all 10 films in the series, that is episodes I-VIII and the two spin-off movies.
Fans will be able to take control of the Millennium Falcon, escape from First Order Stormtroopers and try out Luke Skywalker’s ghastly looking blue milk from the recent instalment The Last Jedi.

Last April Disney Parks and Lucasfilm shared details about the park and their collaboration in an exciting blog post.
They wrote:
The remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel.
Now home to those who prefer less attention, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space.
It’s also a convenient safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.
Unusual characters from across the galaxy have landed here, preferring the “no questions asked” environment as well as easy access to exotic supplies and an abundant supply of ready rogues looking to join a crew for their next adventure.
Luckily for all you fans, this isn’t the only Star Wars theme park Disney is creating as another version is being built at Walt Disney World in Florida.
This park will include its own hotel and is set to open sometime after Galaxy’s Edge.
