The billionaire Tesla founder threw down the challenge to the Australian government yesterday after Tesla executive Lyndon Rive said the company could install the 100-300 megawatt hours of battery storage required to prevent the power shortages that have been causing blackouts in the state. He also said they could do it in 100 days.

Asked on Twitter how serious he was about the offer, Elon Musk replied: “Tesla will get the system installed and working 100 days from contract signature or it is free. That serious enough for you?”
