Ever wondered which phone is better – the Galaxy S7 or the iPhone 6s? Look no further.
To figure out which one is more resilient, the two most popular phones on the market right now stood the test of, well, pretty much everything.
Mobile phone insurance company Square Trade performed a bunch of rather cool tests to see how these two smartphones fare against each other in water resistance, tumble drying and bend tests.
Here are the results:
The Galaxy S7 is way better underwater
The S7 survived 30 minutes under a metre of water, but the speakers suffered permanent damage and the sound muffled, which shouldn’t happen with its IP68 water-resistance rating, Business Insider reports.
On the other hand, the 6s only survived a mere 10 minutes underwater before dying.
The 6s beats the S7 in sidewalk resistance
Only the iPhone 6s survived without a broken screen, while the 6s Plus and the S7 phones all suffered smashed screens.
The S7 is much weaker than the 6s
The S7 Edge is a whole lot weaker than the iPhone, bending under 110 lbs of pressure compared to the iPhone’s 170lbs.
The S7, though, could withstand the same 170lbs of pressure as the iPhone 6s, but it suffered ‘catastrophic’ failure at 250lbs.
The conclusion?
The Galaxy S7 is better equipped to tolerate water damage than the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. But, all in all, the iPhone 6s comes out on top when it comes to withstanding hard hitting surfaces – and it’s more resilient than the 6s Plus.
