Here’s What Your New Facebook Messenger Inbox Is Going To Look Like

If you’re part of the 99 per cent and are in tune with the modern world, then chances are you’ve got that attractive little app called Messenger downloaded onto your phone.

Chances are you probably use it like crazy too – but things are all about to change after a series of radical adaptations were announced, reports the Mirror.

Okay, so let’s start at the beginning. In the near future, when you open the app, instead of being graced by a list of your recent messages you will instead embark on the new ‘home’ page and come face-to-face with a number of modules.

At the top of the home page you will find a handful of your most recent messages, but below that there will be a new feature entitled ‘favourites’ which will allow users to know exactly who you speak to the most by providing a handy little row of those you converse with most often.

But that’s not all.

Messenger will also be letting you know when your buddies are ‘active’ by sticking a green button next to their name, similar to the way Facebook tells you somebody is online on the desktop version of the site.

Some versions of the Messenger app have had the ‘active’ alert feature in the past but, apparently, the alert was rife with glitches, so fingers crossed it’ll work just fine this time.

And, finally, Messenger will also inform you about your all of your pals’ birthdays just to make sure that you never miss out on a quick happy birthday message to those you care about most – and probably those you couldn’t care less about too.

Facebook claims that the new changes will make the app a lot simpler to use but, personally, I’m quite happy with the way Messenger is at the minute.
