Honor have officially unveiled their all-new flagship in Paris, the longly awaited View20.

We’re not quite there yet, but we’ve moved one step closer to the full-screen smartphone of the future. The futuristic-looking handset is hoping to cement its place as the best budget Android smartphone on the market.

Having previously launched the device in China at the end of last year and Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this month, Honor finally put some final details and prices to the name.

The biggest talking point is definitely the display, which has done away with the notch. It’s one of the first phones released this year, along with the Samsung A8, to debut the new kind of hole-punch display.

Filling the hole on the 6.4-inch LCD display is a 25-megapixel camera. There’s a 4.5mm ultra-small camera cutout for the 3.05mm camera lens to fit inside.

Sitting in the top-left corner of the display, the camera doesn’t seem as intrusive as first feared. It’s certainly a lot better than the notch, with notifications sitting underneath the camera so they’re clearly visible. It’s up to personal taste whether you think it’s noticeable, but from first impressions, I don’t believe so.

Its rear camera is 48 MP for the best, sharpest photos on any device released by Honor. It’s the first time a camera with that spec has ever been put into a phone.

The camera also supports 960fps video recording for some great slo-mo shots. It’s been marketed by the company as a unique selling point, frequently comparing picture quality as better than that of the latest iPhone XS.

It also compared its screen to the iPhone XS Max, boasting of the higher amount of screen space.

The phone is powered by a Kirin 980 Chipset, making for 46 per cent faster camera processing, and 55 per cent more responsive tapping.

The aurora nanotexture design is a world’s first, as it tries to brand itself as a trendy alternative to the expensive Samsung and Apple flagships.

It’s evident in the partnerships with Moschino and Fortnite that the brand is trying to appeal to the Global Youth. The phone can handle 60fps Fortnite and they’ve partnered with the Italian fashion brand to create a special edition design.

Other cool features announced at the Paris event were the ability to measure a food’s volume in real-time, and tell you how many calories it contained. The TOF 3D camera also enables 3D imaging to bring images to life.

The new hardware, cool additional features, and powering your day on a single charge thanks to the 4,000mAH battery, means this is an extremely impressive phone.

The View20 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage will cost just £499. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage addition, including the Moschino special edition will cost £579, with the phone available to buy in the UK now.
