If you’re feeling a bit suspicious of your significant other, this app could help you out.
We’ve all wanted to look at our partner’s phone at one point or another, but more often than not, it’s a bad idea, and you’ll get caught.
There’s now a slightly safer, less tricky option.
A new website allows suspicious partners to see if their significant other is using Tinder behind their back.
Swipebuster allows you to search everyone currently on Tinder – so for arguments sake, it doesn’t even have to be your partner you’re searching. It could be literally anyone – your boss, ex-lover, or friend.
But let’s say it’s your partner you want to bust. All you have to do is enter in their first name, their age, and where they most likely last used Tinder. The site will then show you all the users matching that description, allowing you to scroll through and find your partner – if they’re there.
It also lets you know when they last used the app.
Sound great? There’s a catch. Swipebuster charges $4.99 (£3.50) for three searches.
So either look for three people or gather three suspicious friends to make the most of your money.
The other option is to swipe your way through Tinder until you find – or don’t find – them. But that takes a whole lot more effort, so we’d recommend having real reasons to suspect your partner is cheating before attempting that.
And while selling out cheaters for £3.50 seems like a smart way to make money, the man behind the idea (who wishes to remain anonymous) had a different goal in mind.
He told Vanity Fair:
There is too much data about people that people themselves don’t know is available.
Not only are people oversharing and putting out a lot of information about themselves, but companies are also not doing enough to let people know they’re doing it.
So by taking a major company like Tinder, and introducing a juicy lure like catching cheaters, the app not only catches the unfaithful but also educates people on how much of their personal information is out there, and how easily people can access it.
So, if you’re on Tinder and probably shouldn’t be – or even just don’t want your personal info available outside the app – you’ve been warned.
