Man Falls To His Death ‘While Distracted By His Phone’

Here’s a cautionary tale for anyone who gets too distracted by their phones.

A man has fallen to his death after walking off San Diego’s Sunset Cliffs while distracted by an electronic device, the Daily Mail reported.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Christmas Day, and lifeguards confirmed the man, thought to be in his 30s, was using either a phone or a camera at the time.

Lifeguard Bill Bender told NBC San Diego:

Witnesses stated seeing someone distracted by an electronic device and he just fell over the edge. He wasn’t watching where he was walking, he was looking down at the device in his hands.

Although witnesses rushed to his help, administering CPR while waiting for paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
