Mobile Phone Saves Man In Bow And Arrow Attack

An Australian man has been charged after firing a bow and arrow at another man, whose mobile phone helped save his life.

The mobile phone managed to stop the arrow, protecting the man’s life and narrowly avoiding injury.

Police said the victim, a 43-year-old from Nimbin, New South Wales, pulled up outside his man to find an armed man outside his home.

Armed with a bow and arrow, the victim knew the attacker and went to take a picture of him using his smartphone. Amazingly the phone became an unlikely shield, rather than being used as a camera.

NSW police claim the attacker fired his arrow which pierced through the man’s mobile phone. While the phone managed to stop the arrow, the only slight injury was the phone hitting the victim on the chin because of the impact. He did not require medical treatment but was left with a small laceration.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the 39-year-old suspect at the scene. He’s been charged with assault and property damage offences. The police say he has been granted conditional bail and will appeal in court next month.

It is unclear what phone was used to protect the victim, but if it was a Nokia 3310 it would’ve bounced straight back at the victim!
