ShareTheMeal was launched earlier this week and allows users to help feed one child for only 50 cents. So far it’s proving that collectively these small actions can make a huge difference.
Jhila Farzaneh/MashableThe goal of this campaign is to provide school meals to around 20,000 Syrian refugee children for one year living in the Za’atari refugee camp in northern Jordan.
Those who choose to donate also have the choice of making a greater impact by donating $3.50 to feed one child for a week, $15 for a month and $182.50 for a year.
WFP/Abeer EtefaThe app was developed by Sebastien Stricker and Bernhard Kowatsch back in April 2014 as part of an innovation scheme which can help progress towards reducing world hunger.
A successful test launch was completed at the start of this summer, with more than 120,000 users in Austria, Germany and Switzerland providing more than 1.7 million meals for school children in Lesotho- a big help indeed.
It’s hoped that this model can be used for several other causes and projects- to help achieve the goal of zero hunger by 2030.
