A render of the highly anticipated OnePlus 7 shows the handset will have a pop-up selfie camera and a notch-free screen.

The render shows what the phone is being predicted to look like before its upcoming release. It’s been tweeted by noted gadget leaker Steve H.McFly and posted in a blog by Pricebaba.

The render shows the device will have a pop-up selfie camera on the front and a triple camera setup on the back.

Because the camera will now pop-up above the phone, the smartphone will offer a screen-to-body ratio of 95 per-cent or more, according to Pricebaba. They predict the phone display will measure 6.5 inches, with the layout similar to what you’ll find on the OnePlus 6T. It will still have a USB-C port with a speaker at the bottom of the device.

One of the things you’ll notice is the render does not show a headphone jack or a fingerprint scanner anywhere on the phone. The OnePlus 6T was released in 2018 and was the first phone brought out by the company to discard the popular headphone jack. If the rendering does prove to be accurate, the company may have got rid of the headphone jack for good. It’s likely the OnePlus 7 will follow in the footsteps of the 6T and move on from the fingerprint scanner to an in-display fingerprint sensor.

As noted by CNET, this upcoming smartphone will not support wireless charging support. CEO Pete Lau noted at the Mobile World Congress 2019 that he still doesn’t think it’s worth adding to his products.

He said:

OnePlus charging is one of the best… wireless charging is far inferior.

Another thing we also know about the phone is that it will not have 5G compatibility. The company has already said it’s working on a 5G smartphone but the 7 won’t be the 5G phone that was also discussed at the MWC in February.

It’s worth noting these renders are not official and don’t come from OnePlus. The phone is expected to launch in the first half of 2019 and the final design may be slightly different to these renderings. They have certainly made us more excited to see what the phone will eventually look like!
