The Nokia 3310, originally released at the turn of the millennium and in many ways the beginning of modern day mobiles, is making a comeback.
The phone’s reboot will be sold as a way to allow lots of battery life in a nearly indestructible body (again) – for £50.
GiphyThe Nokia 3310 will likely be pitched as a second phone for those who remember its 2000 launch, and will be revealed at Mobile World Congress later this month, according to VentureBeat’s Evan Blass, who first leaked the details.
While you can still buy the reliable turn-of-the-millenium handset on sites like Amazon, you can no longer buy the model from Nokia itself.
There’s no word yet on what exactly the new Nokia 3310 will look like, nor is there any information on any of its specs, but if it’s anything like the old model, expect games like Snake II and Space Impact to appear, as well as the ability to store up to ten reminders.
The company is expected to target the European market, but up until now, distribution to other countries is still unknown.
