In great news for fans of indestructible phones, Nokia is planning to make a brand new mobile!

Okay, so we’re willing to admit that the phones weren’t exactly elegant, but we can’t help but look back on the Nokia’s with some nostalgia – especially considering we live in an era where batteries die after an hour and have screens as tough as a particularly sturdy spider web.

The Finnish electronics company are currently in the second year of a ten-year plan to get themselves back on top of the phones market, since Apple dethroned them back in 2007.

The company’s aim is to make a smartphone that has all the features of modern phones but with that classic Nokia feel, which probably means you could drop a nuke on it and it’d still work.

Nokia has yet to announce a release date or design for their next snake-enabled device.

According to The Telegraph, the company’s chief executive Rajeev Suri has said: “There’s no rush, there’s no timeline. It could happen in 2016, it could happen later.”

Nokia sold its phone-making arm to Microsoft in 2014. The deal prevented it from using its brand on phones until the end of last year.

However, in July, Nokia confirmed its plans to re-enter the mobile phone business.

Good luck Nokia – you’ll need it to dethrone Apple!
