SanDisk/MicronTwo of the biggest memory product makers have made microSD cards that hold 1-terabytes’ worth of storage!
Micron and SanDisk have launched their UHS-I microSDXC products at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. With the size of internal storage added into phones only getting larger, there are still many reasons that you may want to add additional storage to your device.
To put things into perspective, if you bought the Samsung Galaxy S10 with 1TB’s worth of internal storage, you can double that with one of these brand new microSD cards! Why you need 2TB in a smartphone, I’m not sure, but at least the option is there!
According to SanDisk, their Extreme microSDX UHS-I card can transfer 1,000 high-resolution photos and 30 minutes of 4K video (24GB) in less than 3 minutes. It has a read speed of up to 160MB a second, with write speeds of 90MB/s. The card will be available from April for $449.99 (£345) and can be pre-ordered on their website now. It will be available in selected retailers from April 2019.
Meanwhile, Micron’s C200 promises read speeds of up to 100MB a second, with write speeds of 95MB a second. They have said that it will be available to buy around the second quarter of 2019 but they have not announced how much it will cost just yet.
