GettyRemember when your first Tamagotchi died and you had to pull out the propeller pencil and press that reset button.
For a lot of people, it was the first time experiencing the grieving process, and what was worse, it was all your fault.
Well now you can experience the digital responsibility of a pet all over again as Japanese company Bandai have re-released the toy, Konbini reports.

It is over 20 years since the Tamagotchi was released in 1996, and was a huge success, selling 40 million of the egg-shaped toy in the US and Europe.
Of course it is not identical to our nostalgic classic, the LCD display is smaller and a square instead of a rectangle, and the helpful icons at the top and bottom of the screen seem to have disappeared.
GettyDo not fear though, the pixelated characters have remained the same…
Bandai/YoutubeThe only thing is that the hand-held toy has halved in size. It was already tiny!
Bandai/YoutubeSo if you didn’t get to join in the trend when you were a kid because your parents wouldn’t buy you one, so you had no friends and hated your life (just me?)…then you can purchase yourself one now for about £14.
Or just get an actual pet?
