Does this photograph prove once and for all that we are not alone?

U.S. astronaut Scott Kelly tweeted this photo – which appears to show a UFO in the sky – and as always the internet has freaked out a bit about the possibility of alien life…

Scott Kelly – who has been in space for 236 days out of a year in orbit on the International Space Station – shared the photo on Sunday.

Although the image of planet Earth, from 155 miles away is a stunning sight, UFO spotters are more interested in the form in the top right hand corner of the screen.

It’s intriguing content has spoken to alien believers, who feel the 51-year-old is “trying to tell the world about the existence of aliens”.

Editor of blog site UFOsightingsdaily.com, Scott C Waring told the Express:

When an astronaut tweets a photo of a UFO, you can bet people notice it. Scott Kelly likes to send out photos of the view from the windows of the space station, and they look cool. This one however has a cigar shaped glowing UFO with a metallic body in it.The UFO is about 25 meters long and 150 to 200 meters away. It looks like Scott was trying to hint at the existence of aliens. Message received Scott, and thanks.

With so many of these ‘sightings’ made on such a regular basis, NASA doesn’t comment on individual cases, but it seems everyone has their own opinion on the matter.

One YouTube commenter said: “What’s the red smudge at the top of the photo, though? I feel like it could be a reflection. Otherwise it’s a UFO.” Another added: “They are getting ready to pull off the biggest lie so far.”

Others were quick to jump to more rational conclusions, with some saying it was simply a smudge or reflection…

And others suggesting it’s actually a part of the International Space Station, with one YouTube user saying: “Is everyone completely BLIND? Look at the top of the photo. You can see a big silhouette of the ISS. The light is part of the station you morons….”

A bit harsh! Some just thought it was a great opportunity to take the piss…

Is this proof that aliens exist? You decide…
