Ever wondered how much your selfie habits are taking over your life? Well, a new study may have the answer to that.

Despite the fact that taking an excessive amount of selfies could be ruining your love life, or that people have actually injured or even killed themselves in the pursuit of a perfect selfie doesn’t seem to be stopping us.

Now Sourcing and Frames Direct have revealed that Millennials take around nine selfies a week and spend seven minutes on each shot. That works out at about an hour of selfie-taking time a week. Ouch.

The study also found that the number of likes you get – which so many Instagrammers crave – is unrelated to your gender and age.

Millennials definitely rule the selfie, with around 55 per cent of us doing it, while only 24 per cent of Gen X and 9 per cent of Baby Boomers getting involved in the selfie game.

Instagram has almost 250 million #selfies to date, with the study predicting the average Millennial will end up taking up to 25,700 selfies in their lifetime.

As the study was published in collaboration with a glasses company, they also offer a variety of tips on how to take the best glasses selfie – such a valuable skill.
