We’ve all been there – our Facebook friends list has suddenly dropped by one and, damn it, we want answers as to why someone has had the audacity to delete us from their social media lives. After all, we’re hilarious!

For years, Mark Zuckerberg and his team have refused to let us know who’s unfriended us on Facebook, probably so we don’t clog up people’s News Feed with an awful rant about why we thought we had something special with Dave in Cheshire who we met at a party that one time, typing furiously as we down a bottle of wine and cry.

But all that’s about to change, as a new app has been released which is designed to give you the bad news.

It’s called Who Deleted Me and it’s now available as an Android app, as well as a plug-in for Chrome and Firefox browsers, Marie Claire reports.

Who Deleted Me

Apparently, it will instantly reveal a list of contacts who have unfriended you every time you log in to Facebook, letting you know whether you’ve actually been deleted or if that user has simply deactivated their account.

Sadly, it doesn’t backdate, so you can’t find out who binned you off from their Facebook friends in previous months – you’ll only know which contacts have unfriended you after you install the app.

Even so, it’s about to make this whole social media thing a lot more interesting, especially if you’re one of those people who regularly trims your friends list (without the need to post one of those pompous ‘If you can still see this, you survived’ statuses).

Honestly, as if we weren’t already paranoid enough on social media…
