Game of Thrones has been revealed as officially the most bingeable box set show of all time.

If you don’t know by now, the incredible HBO fantasy series tells the story of a warring group of noble families who are battling for the Iron Throne of Westeros, but as the story reaches its climax there is a more deadly foe marching towards them.

The show has won multiple awards, and has been nominated this year for the Best Television Series of the year at the Golden Globes. It truly is a global phenomenon, and has taken the world by storm.

Its leading stars are now household names, and as the show runs to an end over the next couple of years, the world’s eyes are on HBO and G.R.R. Martin to decide what to do next in the mythical setting of Westeros.

In the meantime, fans will have to make do with the second most bingeable show ever, Breaking Bad, which many people argue is the best TV show ever made.

Breaking Bad tells the story of Walter White, a cancer-stricken chemistry teacher who turns to the illegal production of crystal meth in order to make money to leave behind for his family.

Third was the none-more-British show Downton Abbey, which seems to be bigger in America than it is here in Britain.

The research, which was carried out among 2,000 adults ranked The Walking Dead as the fourth most bingeable boxset of all time, with the critically-acclaimed Sopranos coming in at number five.

Steve Mitchell, Head of TV Product Management at Samsung UK, who commissioned the study, said:

We’ve seen over the last few years that there has been a radical change in how people watch TV and their favourite programmes.

Whether through box sets or streaming, we all have an opportunity to watch whatever content we want at a time that’s convenient for us.

Television can be powerful and thought provoking medium and with our QLED technology, which offers unrivalled colour, deep blacks and bold contrast levels – viewers are able to immerse themselves even more with the most life-like picture to date.

The research also found that one in five agree they watch way more TV than they did five years ago. They also admitted they ‘boxset binge’ way more regularly.

Also in the top ten TV shows were 24, Sex and the City as well as Lost and The Wire, with 1920’s period Peaky Blinders narrowly missing the top ten.

Shortly, following those shows were Dexter and Orange is the New Black, as well as fantasy horror True Blood, which tallies up a mammoth 80 episodes.

Teen drama Gossip Girl was also voted as a boxset worth bingeing, along with biker drama Sons of Anarchy.
