Possible spoilers for Game of Thrones
Let’s face it, we’ve pretty much all given up hope on Gendry since he jumped in that row boat way back in season three.
When we last left Gendry, Ser Davos was helping him escape Melisandre, who wanted to use him as a sacrifice to help Stannis become king.
Davos put him on the boat to help him reach King’s Landing, and he might have needed a map, because after three years we still have no sign of the bastard Baratheon.
Hell, even actor Joe Dempsie, who plays the poor bastard, gave up hope:

That is, until now.
Fan site Watchers on the Wall spotted Joe Dempsie trying to keep things incognito at an airport in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where – let me remind you – Game of Thrones is filmed. Coincidence? I think not.
While the picture isn’t really hard proof that Gendry is actually back, alive and kicking in GOT’s upcoming season, it’s definitely given everyone hope.

Me: Don't get your hope about Gendry coming back up.
Me: You're getting you're hopes up, aren't you?

Watchers on the Wall also noted that Dempsie doesn’t seem to have any other ongoing projects that require him to be in Ireland. So either he’s taking a very conveniently located holiday or he’s definitely back.
And with only 13 episodes left in the entire series, it might be time to get to the bottom of some Gendry-related unanswered questions.
