The 51-year-old cook dressed up as the classic Robin Williams character from the hit 1993 film for an episode of Masterchef Junior in Los Angeles.

Donning the cross-dressing character’s trademark reading glasses, blonde wig, frumpy cardigan and pearl necklace, Ramsay was almost unrecognisable as he talked to the child contestants.

The Michelin-star chef wasn’t the only one to dress up – fellow judges Christina Tosi and Joe Bastianich also donned grandmother outfits.

American chef Tosi wore a short silver wig and gold jacket while restaurateur Bastianich took things to a whole new level, appearing in a head-to-toe nun costume.

The quirky episode was a hit with fans who took to Twitter to applaud the judges.

Masterchef Junior. Seeing Gordon Ramsay dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire, that was hilarious and then Joe came out looking like a grandma from Italy or a nun and then Christina looks like a rock and roll grandma!

While another applauded Ramsay in particular, writing:

Ok, but Gordon Ramsay dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire is iconic!

A tweeter by the name of Ryan Craven even admitted he thought Tosi’s outfit suited here, commenting:

Masterchef Junior you guys went total cringe last night. Chef Ramsay looked like Mrs. Doubtfire. Chef Joe looked super creepy. Chef Tosi looks better old.

Ramsay made headlines last month when he revealed why he won’t leave his kids his whopping £113 million fortune.

At the age of 16 Ramsay left the home of his alcoholic father and worked hard to make his way up the ranks, meaning he doesn’t want his kids to be spoilt saying ‘you appreciate it more when you’ve grafted for it’.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Ramsay said:

Last time we went to Royal Hospital Road [Ramsay’s three Michelin starred flagship restaurant in Chelsea] was for Megan’s 16th birthday, and that was the first time we’ve ever eaten there with the kids.

They have served the Chelsea pensioners there for Christmas lunch, but not eaten there.

They don’t sit with us in first class. They haven’t worked anywhere near hard enough to afford that. At that age, at that size, you’re telling me they need to sit in first class? No, they do not. We’re really strict on that.

I turn left with Tana and they turn right and I say to the chief stewardess: ‘Make sure those little f*ckers don’t come anywhere near us, I want to sleep on this plane.’

I worked my f*cking arse off to sit that close to the pilot and you appreciate it more when you’ve grafted for it.

Ramsay and his partner Tana have four children: Matilda, 16, twins Jack and Holly, 18, and Megan, 19.

Ramsay then added how his fortune isn’t going to his kids in his will, concluding:

It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them.

The only thing I’ve agreed with Tana is they get a 25 per cent deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat.

To some this may seem harsh, but it does make a lot of sense!
