Nicole Sedgebeer/FacebookTrains are a nightmare. They’re usually late, often cramped, and if you miss one sod’s law dictates it was the last service.
That is what happened to 21-year-old Nicole Sedgebeer as she attempted to return home to Milton Keynes from London Euston.
Sedgebeer arrived too late at the station to find it locked, and not knowing London very well had no idea what to do, or where to go.
Then Mark stepped in to ensure she would be safe until the station reopened at 5AM the next morning.

What an absolute hero.
Nicole told the Evening Standard:
I went up to him first and said ‘I’m not from around here’ and asked if there was another way to get in to Euston.
He said there wasn’t but said ‘I could show you where the café is’.
I was a bit scared [being alone] and he said he didn’t want to leave his stuff, but he still went and took me there.
It was such a negative situation and it turned into something great. It was really nice to meet someone like that.
This man who I probably would of avoided eye contact with if he asked for spare change, completely changed such a negative event into the most eye opening event in my life.
Mark, you are one special man, I will never look down on a homeless person again.
