A very clever French artist is blowing people’s minds with his remarkably realistic ‘morphing’ technique of combining celebrity faces.
The 25-year-old student – whose name is given as ‘Benji’ on his Instagram account – takes photographs of the super famous and blends them as one beautiful entity. And the results are truly startling.
These morphs actually look like real – albeit very glamorous – people, and Benji’s Instagram followers have become fascinated by whose features remain ‘dominant’ when bunched together.
For example, a picture combining the faces of Jason Momoa and Chris Hemsworth is pure Momoa, with the Aquaman star’s strong features pushing Hemsworth’s handsome face out of the picture altogether.
Others provide an interesting mix of both celebs. The photo mish-mashing the faces Keanu Reeves and Neil Patrick Harris looks like an entirely new actor altogether, with Reeves’ eyes staring intensely above Harris’ mouth.
Some are hilariously mismatched (Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively) while others some manage to resemble both stars simultaneously (bizarrely, Boy George and Sophie Turner).
To date, we’ve had Star Wars morphs and Marvel morphs, presidential candidate morphs and morphs you will not be able to unsee even if you really want to.
Speaking with MailOnline, the artist – whose real name is unknown – revealed his favourite ever morph was the one which combines Lana Del Rey and Natalie Portman.
These morphs have been completed so skilfully they hardly seem to be doctored photographs at all, however it appears the secret behind the artist’s supernaturally perfect work will remain a secret.
He told MailOnline:
It takes me around an hour to do a morph. A bit longer than when I started, because I now try to do them as detailed as I can. The way I do them is still my secret.
I love many of my morphs, but I think the one I made of Natalie Portman and Lana Del Rey is honestly my favourite. In my opinion we can really see both of them at the same time. I admire those two women, and I love this photo.
The celebrities have never directly contacted me, but many celebrities noticed my morphs, including Lily Collins, Mark Hamill, Gigi Hadid, Doutzen Kroes and Lily Aldridge. Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are even following me, it’s just so crazy.
Requests for morphs can be made the comments section of the morphy_me Instagram account, which is followed by 65.7k followers at the time of writing.
