Your wedding day is meant to be one of the most memorable days of your life, and for one bride it was, just for all the wrong reasons.
Getting stood up at your own extravagant wedding is bad enough. You’re embarrassed, your family is embarrassed, your guests are embarrassed for you, which is naturally how Manow Jutathip Nimnual felt when she was stood up by her husband-to-be, Phakin Junjerm.
It’s bad enough Phakin ran out on poor Manow, but had she known he was going to pull such a dick move she wouldn’t have live-streamed it for the entire world to see.
Marriage is a full-time commitment. So before you decide to take the plunge, you and your partner need to establish if you’re both really ready for this level of commitment. Otherwise, you can end up like 24-year-old Manow: heartbroken for the world to see.
The couple were due to tie the knot at a lavish ceremony in Thailand on July 22, but Manow was left stranded by her 20-year-old fiancé. To make things worse she had to be the one to break the news to the guests that the groom had bailed, according to The Bangkok Post.
Standing on stage wearing her bride’s dress, she thanked her guests for attending the ceremony before making the announcement Phakin had decided to perform an inconvenient disappearing act. She went onto apologise profusely to her guests as she felt she had not taken ‘good enough care of them’.
The footage shows a clearly devastated Manow standing there on her lonesome, before being confronted by a friend. The moment she realised she was getting ditched on her wedding day was live-streamed and posted onto her Facebook page.
Since the live-streaming, the five-minute video has attracted more than five million views, furthermore, the majority of people on Facebook had nothing but sympathy and empathy for Manow. Which is a nice surprise considering people’s tendencies to be the absolute worst on the interwebs.
She was clearly looking forward to her big day as she posted pictures on Facebook of the lengths she and Phakin were going to in order to have the perfect wedding. As well as a pre-wedding photoshoot, the two also featured on a billboard poster in the build-up to their nuptials.
The only way Manow’s day could’ve gotten much worse is if the venue all of a sudden caught fire. You can laugh at that notion but that’s what happened at a wedding in Brazil. According to the Brazilian news site, Globo, four people, including the bride, were on board when a helicopter went out of control and fell out of the air.
Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the site but thankfully all four of the people aboard the helicopter had managed to escape the wreckage before they arrived.
Everyone on board suffered minor injuries but miraculously the bride was unharmed and she felt well enough to go through with the ceremony.
According to those at the venue, the happy couple didn’t want to let the crash overshadow their special day so they got married.
