Cardi B has just been officially arrested and charged with two misdemeanours: assault and reckless endangerment.
Reports say the rapper is scheduled to be arraigned on October 29.
Joe Tacopina, the attorney for the alleged victims, said ‘She continues to threaten them and clearly thinks her celebrity status is going to get her out of this.’
He added to TMZ:
But it doesn’t matter if her name is Cardi B or Carl B … if she commits violent assaults she will be brought to justice.
Cardi – who was watching Migos perform at the strip club – came to blows with two bartenders and allegedly told her entourage to attack them with bottles, chairs and a hookah.
The two women were both hurt, but turned down medical attention.
TMZ previously said Cardi will likely be charged with ‘2 misdemeanors — reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. She will not be arrested when she turns herself in… she will get a summons to appear in court on the charges.’
Cardi allegedly threw a shoe at fellow rapper Nicki Minaj during a heated exchange at a New York Fashion Week party.
The two rappers attended the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party on September 7, where Cardi approached Nicki and her crew.
There have been various reports which debate Cardi’s initial intentions, but video evidence appears to show her throwing a shoe at Nicki.
Eyewitnesses described Cardi as ‘aggressively’ approaching Nicki, saying ‘let me tell you something’, before making a lunge for the singer. Security at the event apparently managed to stop Cardi before she got to Nicki.
However, people connected to the American rapper Cardi explained she didn’t approach Nicki with the intention of starting a fight, and wanted to ‘address the lies Nicki was spreading’.
The sources added they believed security had a plan if Cardi came near Minaj.
Not being able to get near to Nicki, Cardi then seemed to pull off her shoe and hurl it across the room towards the Anaconda star.
Since the strange confrontation Nicki appeared on Queen Radio Monday, September 10, to address the situation.
She said, as per TMZ:
You put your hands on certain people you gonna die. PERIOD. And y’all sitting here making this s*** a joke? I’m not the b*tches in the strip club and I’m not a b*tch on a reality show. My money is very f***ing long.
F***ing hell, it’s all kicking off isn’t it?
